The fourth film included in Shout’s “Shaw Brothers Classics Vol. 3” is The Vengeful Beauty. Previously released by 88 Films roughly six years ago, this new version is basically the same disc with a higher bitrate and additional commentary. David West gives some background on wuxia movies and Shaw’s late entry into the genre.

If you’re wondering what separates Shout and 88’s versions, the 88 Films release had two interviews as bonus features. Both of those are featured on other discs across Shout’s various box sets. This particular disc contained only the main feature and the Celestial trailer.
