This is the second film by OGURI Kohei, who made an impressive debut as a director with “Doro no kawa” (Muddy River) in 1981. Muddy River told the story of a boy of the postwar generation, and it received a number of awards at home and abroad. OGURI’s parents stayed in Korea for six years. In 1945, when they returned to Japan after the war, his mother was pregnant and soon gave birth to Kohei.OOTA Shogo, who worked on the script with OGURI, runs a theatrical group called “Tenkei gekijo” and is an international known playwright and director. This is his first film script. The production crew is the same one that worked on Muddy River. O Sunghil who plays the hero Im Sanjun is a Korean sculptor who was born and lives in Japan. He says that this is his first and last film. A number of Koreans who reside in Japan also cooperated in making this film.
