The proven team of director Lau Ka Leung and star Gordon Lau collaborate on The Shadow Boxing, a horror-comedy featuring the famed hopping vampires of Hong Kong Cinema lore! Gordon Lau is Zhang Jie, an escaped convict out to prove his innocence. But first he has to get to the man who really committed the crime, which won’t be easy. Luckily, two vampire herders (Lau Ka Wing and Wong Yu) are in the midst of herding wayward vampires to their families for burial. So how does Zhang Jie avoid capture by the authorities? He pretends to be a hopping vampire, with predictably hilarious results! Director Lau Kar Leung mixes his excellent action choreography with minor horror elements and a large helping of comedy. Also known as Spiritual Boxer 2, The Shadow Boxing features its fair share of hopping vampire action, and is a fine introduction to this unique Hong Kong genre! .

Four shorts make up Heroes in Love; three by first-time directors and a fourth using images from the previous three pieces. Bearing a Chinese title translating as “Revolution of Love”, the production’s an impressive showcase of work from well-known names in the Hong Kong entertainment circuit. The four short stories begins with “Kidnap.” The moody piece sees a tomboy take a girl hostage in a cramped apartment; an event from which a relationship builds. An overly dark finish, sporadic electronic score and a mix of visual presentations keep the production atmospheric and on edge “My Beloved” is directed and written by pop idols Nicholas Tse and Stephen Fung. The “beloved” is a gun, not a person – a cynical gun maniac buys a new pistol to replace the old one he has lost. But his new “love” turns out to be a grumbling partner, which drives him to do “the big times”. The directors boldly project the protagonist’s love onto an object, a scathing satire on the apathy of the modern society. “Oh G!” is the love story of a sharp-witted girl and a bland boy. Designer Wing Shya directs the third story Kidnap which depicts how a tomboy reveals her heart to her dream girl with a most outrageous plan. The Jan Lamb-directed “TBC” is the final segment and concludes the film. This very brief piece applies a voiced-over relationship tale set to scenes taken from the preceding films. The story of a man finding himself alone after a relationship is presented with footage that best corresponds to the narrative

In the early 20th century. Xiao Yuegui (Yu Nan) is sold as a maid to a Shanghai brothel, where Madam Dai Yu (Bai Ling) doesn’t like her because she has a no-count big foot with big breasts. But soon she becomes a lover of Chang Lixong (Hu Jun), who is the gang leader of Hong society. After meeting with Huang Peiyu (Qin Hao), a leader of the secret society and underground resistance movement Tongmenghui, Chang Lixong is assassinated. Xiao Yuegui becames helpless and then goes to the countryside, where she gives birth to a daughter.[3]
Years later, Xiao Yuegui organizes a theatrical troupe named “Tanhuang Banzi”, and she returns to Shanghai. Under the patronage of the second generation lord of Shanghai Huang Peiyu, she rose to prominence. When she falls in love with Huang, she finds that Huang was involvement with the assassination of her husband Chang Lixiong. Xiao Yuegui persuades Yu Qiyang (Rhydian Vaughan), an attendant to both lords of Shanghai, to promote justice. After Huang’s death, Yu Qiyang replaces him to become the third generation lord of Shanghai

Bits and pieces of veteran director Yuthlert Sippapak’s own life are mixed into Tukkae Rak Pang Mak (ตุ๊กแกรักแป้งมาก, Chiang Khan Story).
A romantic comedy, representing yet another genre shift for the prolific director who’s tackled action, comedy, horror and melodrama – often all in the same film – the story is set 25 years ago in Loei’s historic Mekong River port city. Jirayu La-ongmanee is a kid with the rather odd name of Tukkae – named after the chirping house lizard. As a kid, his best friend was the district chief’s daughter Pang. She (Chonthida “Pleng” Asavahame) moves away and returns much changed, and does not remember Tukkae at all. He’s always had a thing for her, but doesn’t tell her who he is.
